The debut record from the Tokyo-based six-piece, Remmings is a meticulously crafted piece of music that takes the instrumental/ambient post-rock of so many of today’s bands as its starting point and injects it with a cinematic, almost classical music quality that makes this just about the most interesting record in the genre so far this year. Where many of today’s bands are busy cloning each other’s sound, Anoice have produced something entirely different and original, a mature record of great beauty and attention to detail that rises above any clichés and should by all accounts establish them as one of the leading artists today.
