rivulets
you are my home
(important)
This is an especially lush and pretty Rivulets album, but still with all the
hallmarks of his music:
fragile and fierce, stark and eerie. It's minimalist, but filled with so many
interesting and pleasing
sounds, not just Nathan Amundson's distinctly brittle and high singing voice
but also piano, strings,
guitars (soothing acoustics and seething electrics), clouds of static and crisp
drums. The songs
resemble confessions, apologies, unsent love letters all haunted by ghosts.
"It goes on and on",
the memory of lost love, one song declares. Echoes of past mistakes and past
joys ache through
each of these powerful, heartbreaking and earthshaking songs. (www.importantrecords.com)
